Team play fosters collaboration, sportsmanship, and leadership.

Students in grades five through nine are required to play a sport each season allowing them to discover their likes, dislikes, strengths, and areas for improvement. Through team sports, students:
- Develop their critical thinking skills
- Learn when and how to lead and when to delegate
- Discern when to take risks and when to be patient
- Understand the importance of practice and perseverance
- Cultivate school spirit and build camaraderie
13 Competitive Sports
Students have sports practice Monday through Thursday for approximately 70 minutes per day. They play on developmental, junior varsity, and varsity teams.
GRADES 5&6
Interscholastic athletics begin in fifth grade with an emphasis on participation and skill development so that students of all levels of ability and experience feel supported. Each season, students compete on an interscholastic team in the sport of their choice. All teams compete with other area independent schools.
GRADES 7-9
Competitive varsity teams challenge athletes as they work toward taking their skills to the next level. Teams compete in the Fairchester Athletics League and non-league opponents. Through healthy competition, students learn discipline, focus, teamwork, and develop a love of the game. Upon graduating from RCS, athletes are prepared and confident to tackle the next level of competition as they move on to secondary school.
