Through academic play, our youngest students are free to explore, 发现, and experience the joy of learning.

德文·皮卡兹(Devon Piekarz)过去两年在格林威治的不伦瑞克学校教书, 在那之前, she was at the Madison School for Young Children in her hometown of Madison, 康涅狄格. Devon received her B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Education from Fairfield University and an M.A. in Elementary Education from the American College of Education. 在她空闲的时候, she loves to sit at the beach and read, cook (her mom is a chef), and spend time with her big family. A fun fact about Ms. Piekarz is that she has a dog named Meatball!

    The curriculum is emergent and project based. 通过 children’s enthusiasm for a topic, the teachers create a sophisticated project based unit. These units incorporate language, 数学, communication, motor, and social skills. The project based units are in depth, allowing children to learn to think deeply and make connections. 一直以来, they are learning how to make friends, 一起工作, and be a part of a classroom community. Children learn more when they are learning about something that interests them; emergent curriculum allows them to do just that. 另外, through emergent curriculum, children learn early on that their ideas are valuable and powerful.
